Nacen los hoteles con conciencia ecológica

La creciente preocupación por un turismo medioambiental y sostenible ha creado una nueva corriente: el ecoturismo. Esta nueva forma de viajar se refleja en unos hábitos alternativos que van desde los tradicionales alojamientos rurales hasta los hoteles más vanguardistas, que han convertido la protección del medioambiente como el mejor valor añadido de su oferta. Los asiduos de este tipo de establecimientos han decidido acercarse un poco más a la naturaleza y eligen hoteles "verdes" de todo el mundo, que adquieren cada vez mayor popularidad dentro del turismo internacional y español.

Según Ecologistas en acción, estos hoteles deben tener estas características:

La mayor parte de la energía consumida es solar.
Cumplen la normativa de construccíon bioclimática.
Acceso posible mediante transporte público y no situados en zonas masificadas por el turismo.
Alimentación agro-ecológica.

Otros aspectos importantes son el respeto al paisaje, la biodiversidad, la cultura y tradión local, así como el apoyo al desarrollo sostenible de la zona.
Hay que ser cuidadosos a la hora de seleccionar un establecimiento de este tipo, ya que no todos los que publicitan ser ecohoteles, lo son en realidad.
